50+ U-Pick Farms In Alberta

Fresh fruits and veggies right out of the garden – what could be better? Making it a family affair and handpicking the ones you want of course! Here’s a list of U-Picks around the province.

Be sure to check the farm’s website & social media for when U-Pick areas are ready for harvesting as it is dependent on the fruit and the growing season! Plus, some are by appointment only.

Before You Go to a U-Pick

Some things to consider when going to a U-Pick farm:

• Call first as some require appointments or strongly suggest appointments. Plus crop conditions may not be favourable. 
• Bring cash – Even if they accept debit or credit, what happens if it doesn’t work?..out on a farm…..you get my point 🙂
• Bring snacks & water 
• Bring a cooler to keep your pickings fresh for the drive home. 
• Wear a hat & sunscreen – you will realize when its too late that you have gotten sun stroke or sun burn
• Wear good shoes & comfortable clothing- there is lots of bending and moving around. 
• BRING YOUR OWN PAILS FOR BERRY PICKING (ice cream pails work great)

Calgary Area

These farms are within 30-40 minutes of Calgary. Don’t forget to check central and Southern Alberta for spots a bit further away!
