Calgary is a destination for many families and sometimes is nice to go somewhere with the kids that’s free and fun! Parks are just that and these 4 are ones that we explored recently!
Bowness Park
This park is just a small part of the Bowness Park which sits on 30 hectares. During the summer months, there are paddle boats available to rent, a mini train to ride (fee), plenty of green space to picnic and hang out, trails to explore, as well as a tea house and restaurant. An unguarded wading pool is available at the east end of the park.

Elboya Heights Park
I loved that this park had chairs to sit in instead of picnic tables. The bright colours and large climbing structure were a favorite for all of the kids and the rubber ground was a plus!

Cranleigh Green Playground
This is a park that I think is better suited for older kids or the big climbers! One of the climbing structures also turned so that was a big deal for my kids! Aside from the slides, there wasn’t really anything for younger kids, however, the toddler was asleep during this park visit so it worked out perfect for us!

Airport Playground
The kids loved this park because again there was something for everyone to play on! The large structure was fun to climb up and go down the super tall slide, there was a toddler-friendly merry go round and saucer swings! Another great feature that many parents with younger kids like is that this park also had a rubber ground.
